Spark Fuel Ignite

Background:

“Spark-Fuel-Ignite! (SFI) is a program of education and community building that brings together multiple stakeholders, include University of the Arts’ Design, Museum Studies, and Continuing Education graduate students; Philadelphia high school teachers and students; and partners in libraries and educational institutes to explore how interactive experiences of design thinking and production can further the citywide mission of sustaining a civically-minded creative economy and inspiring young learners to seek and pursue educational and professional opportunities.” (Source)

Design Challenge:

“How did you come to this community?” How can people respond to this question in visual or kinesthetic ways?

After weeks of brainstorming, planning, and create prototypes, the project was set up at a block party in Chinatown North.
